As the first of the Mar Sara missions (and the first mission in game), completing this mission in brutal mode is pretty easy, as is unlocking all of the achievements.

In this article, I will be discussing the strategy for each of these tasks, starting with the Brutal mode guide.

Liberation Day Brutal Walkthrough

Fortunately, you only need to apply a few simple strategies to beat this mission on brutal mode. Here are the tips:

• First off, always move with the "attack" function. You do not even have to focus fire in this mission to easily win. The only thing you have to do when attacking is make sure all of your units are participating. Select them all to the same number group (ctrl + a number), move with the attack command, and all will be well.

• Ignore the holograms; there are several marines guarding a hologram that you can simply skip over and doing so makes the mission a lot easier.

• On the final wave, note that the untargetable civilians do a lot of damage and have HP pools. Enemy units will tend to attack whatever is closest to them. You can use this to your advantage by standing behind them on the assault on the main base. Once you shoot a structure, the civilians rush in. Use them as your shield and have Raynor finish off the enemy troops from a safe distance.

• Marines and Civilians are not important, just make sure you have Raynor alive for the final wave and the civilians will finish it for you.

And that is all there is to it. The real key is letting the Civilians soak up all the damage on the final assault and skipping over the marine pack guarding the hologram. Do that and this mission is easy.

I also believe there is no easier set of achievements in game aside from the Liberation Day ones. Here are the 3 achievements and how to unlock them:

Liberation Day - Complete all objectives of the Liberation Day achievement on normal difficulty. The only thing you have to do here is to kill the 6 Holograms and complete the mission. This is easy; all of the Holograms are in plain site. There is one that is somewhat hidden and is just south of the area where you get the Marine drops. The last 2 Holograms are by the Civilians.

Down with Mengsk - Kill all enemy units on "Hard" difficulty. This is also easy, and simply by killing all the Holograms you will ensure you end up in contact with every enemy unit.

Raynor's Back - Kill 5 units with Raynor on "Hard" difficulty. This achievement will happen as long as Raynor participates in every fight. Raynor usually ends up with 10+ kills in this mission without even trying.
